WOLF PEOPLE

Wolf People is a rather fitting name for the Jagjaguwar signees. With their paganistic prog stylings and snarling guitar sounds, the Bedford-cum-London-cum-Barnoldswick quartet invoke imagery of an England now past. Channeling the occult and mysticism which this emerald isle harbours, from its cornfields to its sea-weathered caves, Wolf People mix Sabbath-esque blues rock with nuances of English folk with Stewart Lee describing them as “Peat bog superfuzz sphagnum moss sludge”. Quite.
With their latest album ‘Ruins’ receiving rave reviews from the likes of Line Of Best Fit, The Guardian and Uncut, Wolf People are true originals who pull off a sound which is monumentous, complex and primal.
