A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS
New York scree architects A PLACE TO BURY STRANGERS know their way around a noisy tumult, somehow drawing beauty from an assault of guitar and glitch. In their quieter, foggy moments the Brooklyn trio show a remarkably deft touch, playing with the tension that noise and chaos is never far away.
Since 2015’s ‘Transfixiation’ LP (Dead Ocean), the band have kept a relatively low profile: bassist Dion Lunadon released a solo LP, and drummer Robi Gonzalez departed. Now with the energy of Lia Simone Braswell behind the drum kit, 2017 has seen a new spark of activity for APTBS, releasing one-off single ‘Everyone’s The Same’ on Secretly Canadian’s ‘Our First 100 Days’ compilation, a furious reaction to Donald Trump’s presidency. The band are also currently taking their wall of sound on tour with The Black Angels.
