PZYK 2021 — 15 May 2021

PZYK IS DEAD. LONG LIVE PZYK.
It is with great sadness we are today announcing the cancellation of PZYK 2021.

Despite the positive vaccination news, we still have no certainty as to whether it will be feasible to host the festival in May 2021. With months of continued planning ahead to realise PZYK 2021, we do not have the luxury of waiting until the spring before making a decision as to whether we can welcome our congregation to Liverpool in May.
We appreciate that people travel from around the world to visit the festival and out of respect we want to provide clarity as soon as possible.
We were incredibly excited about presenting the festival at a new venue and we have made the decision to cancel with a heavy heart.
We look forward to a point in the future when COVID-19 is but a distant nightmare and we can come together once more.
Refunds will be processed automatically by our ticketing partner Eventim on Monday 30th November.
All original tickets remain valid for the re-arranged date. If you have any further ticketing enquiries, please contact Eventim here.

Yours in drone, always.

MUSINGS IN DRONE

Psych scenes, communities and festivals are flourishing across the globe right now, in a global movement in consciousness that we are proud to be a part of. With that in mind, we are pleased to confirm the return of MUSINGS IN DRONE, our very own tripped-out chat show, which seeks to dig out the stories, tales and experiences of the artists, labels and heads within today’s neo-psych scene.

This hilarious, enlightening and bewildering psymposium takes place within our very own PZYK Cinema on the afternoon of Saturday 24 September. As ever, the programme will be hosted by Liverpool audio-oracle Bernie Connor, presenter of the impeccable Sound Of Music podcast, and will include:

+ STEVE DAVIS – yes that one – who grace’s the turntables at this year’s festival on the Friday night, joins BERNIE CONNOR to talk through his love of obscure prog, ambient electronica and his transition from peerless break builder to immaculate psych-selector.

+ Spacemen 3, Spiritualized and Spectrum bass player WILL CARRUTHERS will be in conversation with Drowned In Sound’s DOM GOURLAY, discussing his recent Faber And Faber-published memoir ‘Playing The Bass With Three Left Hands’.

+ Super Furry Animals guitarist HUW BUNFORD and the group’s longtime visual collaborator PETE FOWLER will be discussing Perambulator V.1, an artwork produced for this year’s PZYK VR project, with The Quietus’ JULIAN MARSZALEK. .

+ Celebrated screen writer and actor GRAHAM DUFF presents an illustrated talk examining the numerous ways hallucinations are depicted on screen. There’ll be screened examples encompassing both cinematic masterpieces and cult TV, from Dumbo to A Field In England.
