PZYK 2015 REVIEWS: The Quietus + Big Issue

“Arguably, musically this could be the best festival in the country at the moment. It’s not on a beautiful landscape, it’s not by a river and it hasn’t got any other form of entertainment apart from loud music. It’s no frills. I’ve never found the idea of an urban festival attractive but this, it’s serious.”

So says Finders Keepers’ Andy Votel when asked to sum up the festival by Bryony Bird for her review for Big Issue North. You can read the full review HERE.

Julian Marszalek returned for his fourth PZYK trip this year, and he and Christina McDermott recounted the things they learned from the experience in their review for the Quietus.

“whatever happens between now and the end of next September, the events of the Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia are indelibly etched on the brain to serve as a reminder of how good a festival really can be when delivered with focus, purpose and, yes, love.” -Julian Marszalek

There was also a fantastic interview with Artist In Residence Anton Newcombe in the 10-16 October issue of the Guardian Guide. Rhik Saammader came along to the festival and chatted to Anton just prior to his talk with Dom Gourlay from Drowned in Sound as part of our Musings In Drone conversation series. You can read the full article HERE.

As well as these fantastic reviews – and those from CLASH and The Skinny – we were delighted to receive really positive reviews from GetIntoThis (Friday and Saturday), Artrocker and God Is In The TV.

Same again next year?
