Neo-psych kingpins Moon Duo have just released their third album ‘Shadow Of The Sun’ via Sacred Bones, and the duo of Ripley Johnson and Sanae Yamada are touching base at EPL in June as part of their summer tour. Dylan Carlson’s legendary drone metal band Earth have also got extensive touring duties in Europe in 2015, and we’re utterly PZYKD to see them in Eindhoven.
The label showcase of modern psych tastemakers Trouble In Mind has also made some great additions, as THE LIMIÑANAS (Fra), SOFT WALLS (UK), ULTIMATE PAINTING (UK) and KLAUS JOHANN GROBE (Sui) have been announced to play the Chicago label’s stage curation. They’ll be joining the three artists previously announced for this stage – MORGAN DELT (USA), DOUG TUTTLE (USA) and JACCO GARDNER (Ned). Elsewhere, THE TELESCOPES (UK), KIKAGAKU MOYO (Jap), K-X-P (Fin), HEY COLOSSUS (UK), THE LUCID DREAM (UK), zZz (Ned), MDOU MOCTAR (Nig) and DEAD RABBITS (UK) join what is already shaping up to be a fantastic bill for EPL 2015. CULT OF DOM KELLER (UK), BLACK BOMBAIM (Por), POW! (USA), TEETH OF THE SEA (UK), BED RUGS (Bel) and PAUW (Ned) complete the line-up.
An experimental lab culture has been an important part of Eindhoven’s scientific, industrial and creative scene for many years, in particular with Philips’ groundbreaking technical factory NatLab where many electric and musical explorations and experiments were done over the years. Eindhoven Psych Lab builds on that history and culture, pushing boundaries wherever possible and fit. A series of ‘Visual Happenings’ will take place across 2015’s festival, the first three of which have already been announced.
